Choi Sooyoung, a member of the girl group Girls' Generation and actress, will make her solo debut in Japan.
On the 29th, her agency Saram Entertainment announced that "Choi Sooyoung will release her first solo debut single 'Unstoppable' in Japan on October 30."
After 22 years since her debut, Sooyoung is set to release her first solo single in Japan, and she has actively participated in the album's production, collaborating with top creators from both Korea and Japan. Leading the production is Soma Genda, a renowned music producer who works with global artists, along with Kanata Okajima, Yui Mugino, Knoak, and other top creators. In addition, Sooyoung was deeply involved in the album's concept creation and lyric production, contributing to the lyrics of three out of the four tracks on the album, which increased anticipation.
The concept photo released on this day is themed around "The Era of Adulthood," showcasing a more mature image of Sooyoung, which catches the eye. This theme also resonates with the album’s title track, 'Unstoppable.' The track, which features a 2000s retro vibe, presents lyrics that express the life of a strong-willed woman. Sooyoung's first Japanese solo debut single will include four tracks: 'Unstoppable,' 'C.A.L.M,' 'Who is reflected in this world?,' and 'Call Me.'
The track 'C.A.L.M' has a sensual mood, while 'Who is reflected in this world?' features her pure voice combined with beautiful strings and piano melodies. The final track, 'Call Me,' is a song that encourages others and stands out with its inclusion of Korean lyrics.
Sooyoung shared, "I’m excited to finally debut as a solo artist, something I’ve only imagined." She added, "I’m thrilled to have the opportunity to collaborate with creators from both Korea and Japan as an artist. I hope everyone looks forward to it." Through various attempts and challenges, from writing lyrics to producing, Sooyoung is expanding her musical career, and her future steps are attracting attention.
To celebrate her first Japanese solo debut single, Sooyoung will hold the 'SooYoung Solo Debut Showcase ~Unstoppable~' at the Tokyo Yebisu Garden Hall on October 26, where she will spend a special time with her fans.
