Actress Choi Sooyoung hosted the closing ceremony of the 29th Busan International Film Festival (BIFF), bringing the event to a grand finale.
The Busan International Film Festival (BIFF), which took place from October 2nd to 11th, successfully concluded after ten days of celebration. This year marked the 29th edition of the festival, which has grown from Korea's first international film festival to the largest in the country, becoming a global celebration for filmmakers from around the world.
At the closing ceremony, Sooyoung, dressed in a pure white dress, captivated the audience with her elegant appearance. As the host, she led the ceremony with her seasoned and charming hosting skills. She expressed her gratitude, saying, "There are many people who work tirelessly behind the scenes to make this grand festival happen. I would like to extend my deep thanks to the staff of the organizing committee, the police officers, firefighters, and medical staff who ensured the safety of the event, the volunteers who worked hard at the venue, the filmmakers who gifted us with magical moments through their wonderful films, and, of course, the audience who shared this time with us." Her heartfelt words earned a round of applause from the audience.
Choi Sooyoung, who has a strong connection with Busan, has previously hosted multiple prestigious events, including the Marie Claire Asia Star Awards and the Busan Film Critics Awards, showcasing her excellent hosting abilities. At this year’s BIFF, she shared great chemistry with actor Gong Myoung, who co-hosted, as they delivered witty and smooth exchanges, making the evening even more exciting.
Meanwhile, Choi Sooyoung is set to release her first Japanese solo debut single, Unstoppable, on October 30. Today (12th), she revealed the teaser for the music video on the Avex YouTube channel at 6 PM. Additionally, she will hold a showcase in Tokyo at the Yebisu Garden Hall on October 26 to celebrate her solo debut.
